BRCA BROS

Community Guidelines

Last updated: September 14, 2026

1. Why We're Here

BRCA Bros is a place for men with BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutations, and the people who love them, to talk. We're direct, a little irreverent about the awkward stuff, and serious about the parts that matter.

2. Expected Behavior

  • Treat other members with respect, even when you disagree.
  • Keep it supportive. This is a place for peer support, not a substitute for medical advice, and posts here shouldn't be treated as diagnosis or treatment guidance.
  • Respect people's privacy, including their choice to keep their BRCA status private.

3. Not Allowed

  • Harassment, hate speech, or personal attacks.
  • Medical misinformation presented as fact.
  • Spam or unsolicited self-promotion.
  • Sharing another member's personal information without their consent.
  • Jokes about cancer, or about people who've had it or lost someone to it. We joke about the exam, the waiting room, and dragging your feet on making an appointment. We don't joke about the disease itself.

4. Reporting

If you see something that doesn't belong here, use the report button on the post, reply, or profile. Our moderation team reviews every report.

5. What Happens After a Report

Depending on what we find, we may remove content, issue a warning, or suspend or permanently remove an account. We try to be proportionate: a first-time slip gets handled differently than a pattern of abuse.

6. Medical Disclaimer

Nothing posted in BRCA Bros, by members, moderators, or anyone else, is medical advice. Always talk to a doctor or genetic counselor about your own care.
